Saving the world from Pinterest fails, one project at a time.

If you’re like us, your home design boards are bursting at the seams with great ideas.
The trick is — how do you translate those beautiful pictures into reality? Where do you find those gorgeous real wood products without spending an arm and a leg?

(Hint: The big-box stores sure don’t have them.)

Our Team

Ryan

Ryan

Owner

Ryan Siggins, a serial entrepreneur, is the owner of Durango Wood Company. He first moved to Durango, Colorado in 2004 to open his first chiropractic practice (yes, he is a chiropractor). During his healthcare stint, he started 2 other adjunct businesses — Durango Bike Fit and Quantified Performance. In 2012, Ryan and his wife Kerry had their son Jack, and Ryan decided it was time to transition out of the healthcare field.

In 2014 looking for business opportunities in Durango, Ryan stumbled on Las Animas Wood Products, a 60 year-old millworks company on the verge of shutting its doors for good. Seeing an opportunity to continue the legacy of millwork production in La Plata County, Ryan and Kerry purchased the equipment and property in early 2015 and began the turnaround process. Now called Durango Wood Company, the millworks business is thriving by serving customers throughout the Four Corners and beyond with stunning wood products made with exceptional quality. Ryan is proud to have saved this historic property and business, creating jobs and products for the Durango community.

Mike

Mike

General Manager

Mike has always had a penchant for challenges. He attended UCLA and graduated with a degree in Aerospace Engineering. While spaceflight presents plenty of challenges, Mike had a passion for nature, wood, and a more tactile career, so he and his fiancée moved out of Los Angeles to Durango in 2018. He got a job as a Shop Hand at Durango Wood Company shortly after moving to town and armed with an eye for detail and devotion to quality, soon became the Lead Moulder Operator in the shop. After knee surgery ended Mike’s career in the shop, he moved into Business Development. Now as the General Manager of Durango Wood Company, Mike strives to handle each project like the challenges he is so fond of, with the same attention to detail and enthusiasm for a quality result.

Caleb

Caleb

Shop Foreman

Born and raised in Durango, Colorado, Caleb understands the value of hard work. He started at Durango Wood Company four years ago as a summer job during high school and worked tirelessly as a jack-of-all-trades: repairing heavy machinery, performing necessary machine maintenance, and organizing the yard. After graduating from Durango High School, Caleb joined the team full time, lending his diligence and expertise to production as a moulder operator, shop hand, and delivery driver. Now as Shop Foreman, Caleb leans on his previous experience to keep the shop running efficiently. Never one to back down from a challenge, he still gets his hands dirty tuning up the forklifts, vehicles, and shop equipment. When he’s not mastering his woodcraft and keeping the daily operations running, you can find him adventuring the great outdoors or buried in the engine bay of his beautiful antique truck.
